World Expo 2008: Girona, Spain
Should be one of the biggest miniature painting events of the decade, I originally planned on showing but it looked very unlikely, and then it turned out it may work after all! Anyhow, here are some pages that explain what the event is all about, exact locale, etc. http://goeurope.about.com/od/gironaspain/Girona_Travel_and_Tourism_Information_for_Girona_Spain.htm http://www.spain.info/TourSpain/Destinos/TipoII/Datos+Generales/i/hh/0/girona?language=en http://www.planetfigure.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=36 http://www.elbaluard.net/web2_0/ There will be a team portion of it, that team representing it's country.

Cool, well it's really come up fast haha. As far as I know, only Mathieu and I are going from the forums but I could be mistaken.

Finally I'm not... Opted for Chicago and Gencon instead since these two trips were paying themselves. I'll wait another 3 years and aim for gold in master ;)

Good lighting... check. Endless display cases... check. Sounds good to me  throw in the part about having endless, bright display cases full of (some of) the best miniatures from 5 continents, plus stores ranging from Latorre to Kraken ahhahaha this is too cool. Today I threw in my bunch (plus a Khorne Terminator I did a while back) and checked out Seb (automaton)'s models in person. I am convinced that he's the best fantasy painter there but I'll have to find the rest of the Spanish Team and Allan's collection (didn't get a solid look yet) and make sure :) Victor, Alex, Sanjay -- Bad news, the book wasn't on sale. Good news, I have Victor's cat-like Arab (Arabic cat? :P ) and DVD, Alex's megalomaniac penguin, and the three Aurloks. I picked up Carlos from Alkemy miniatures and the limited edition fantasy model (HUGE) which came out to 20 euros because of the inscription discount.

StarFyre- 07-04-2008

what limited edition fantasy model? what is it? how big? can you get more? I'd be interested if it's a good model....any pic? Sanjay

Starks333- 07-04-2008

its on the website, its pretty sick :P

StarFyre- 07-05-2008

oh i saw it..the 3 person giant thing with wings? don't like it actually :( So not sad that I can't get it :) Sanjay

AsianChicken- 07-05-2008

Hey Ian, I think Sebastian (automaton) brought some casts of his own line of miniatures that he's sculpting currently. See if he's got some left. Check back to me through e-mail or here..I think some other people might want them. PS. Pictures are in the threads at the Oz Painters forums. V
