Post your oldest painted model
To understand where we are going, it's important to know where we have been. I also think it's really inspiring to see what people's first mini's were like. It lets you see how much people have changed in their painting and how far they have come. If you like, you can also take before and after photos: ie, show us the model, strip it, and repaint it now and show the difference. These were probably my 2nd and 3rd models. My first was a goblin doom diver for a friend. When I got these.. they were current range models. Two Champions of Khorne. I'm not sure when I got them, but it would be early 90's

*EDIT: Andrew wants an approximate date. This was done back in the beginning of grade 7, so around 1998. Would've made me 10 at the time. DV8

Here's my "first" from 3-9-03...basecoat, ink, drybrush...DONE. I think I've improved a bit over the last 4 years. We should ammend this thread to include first, and latest..."from crappy to snappy"...showcasing the improvements we have all made.

It was one of these two. This was back in late '94. The now long gone Citadel colours used on the purple plastic sergeant are Worm Purple, Go Fasta Red, and Bilious Green (a long time favourite of mine). And the flesh has a weird hue because I used Titilating Pink as the base (not a long time favourite of mine).

@Mason - ah so you have done some GW! I think you win for best first minis as well.

Legacy40k- 11-05-2007

Wow Mason, you even did the eyes, have shading, and flames! and some blending! Those are pretty sweet!. I can't believe how far some of you have come in so little time, especially Lunchbox! I feel like a slow learner now!

I did this guy about four months later: He's styled after the Mark Gibbons artwork from the old Ork Codex. Come to think of it, it's been a while since I painted any skulls. P.S. I'm just posting this guy as proof that I've "been there, done that" in terms of GW. I used to love the stuff, but I only find the Forgeworld stuff appealing now.

The Unforgiven- 06-18-2008

This thread is worth being revived... heres my first ! well..firsts. I painted them all at the same time. They arent that bad in my opinion, I've improved a lot... you gotta start somewhere eh? They were done in 2005 I think...(I was 10)
