yeah, 1 streetcar/bus. Have you driven down Bathurst on a Saturday morning. At least at the metro convention center you have the subway ( yonge or Spadina lines) or bus For me, I drive so it's no big deal, $15 to park just like downtown.
park and ride baby, park at a less xpensive place then ttc it in.
I TTC it........TOOK THE CAR
This may sound like an absolutely newbie question to those of you who have attended Games Day in the past, but here it is anyway:
IS there a fee or any paperwork that goes along with an entry for Golden Demon? Although I can't personally go our manager is willing (and allowed) to take a piece for me. It won't compete with any of yours (being staff and all) but I thought the opportunity is there so why not at least try to have something ready. My biggest challenge being that I am having issues sculpting the hair for my model, its proven far more challenging than I expected. But anyway, I've read the website and all that but I want to make sure I'm not missing anything.
theres just an entry slip thats filled out so it is ID'd as being yours, so when you go to pick it up you give your half of the slip they give you your piece
perfect then, that's easy enough for my manager to take care of when he gets there. we wanted to try to get there (I might still send Cherub) but I'll be running the store here during games day.
Here's another question: when you guys enter just a single large model do you typically build a display base around it or simply use the base the model normally sits on and build something on that? I have an idea I want to try but I don't want to put all the work into it only to find out I over did it.

well some games days/judge can be fussy about things...generally you're supposed to build your pieces on a GW base so its "removeable" for god knows why....the exceptions are open and duel/diorama
but i mean ive seen numerous pieces built into a display base whether it was the same size as a GW base or not i dont know
to me, if GW DQs you because you put a dragon or large monster on a base thats bigger than the size of his one foot...thats just lame
i can see the reasoning in some cases, but in others its just bleh...so use the biggest GW square base you can find! hahah
Starks
Awesome, that's easy enough. I'm using a monster base b/c that's what she's "supposed" to be on, but maybe then I'll build my full diarama and hang onto it here...I need to make a full proper bases for my forest spirits anyway.
Just ok the fact your piece will be entered by proxy. The rules state, you the maker of the piece has to enter it in person and pick it up in person (less strict). They are very picky that you enter your piece and not enter it by proxy. Sound like you're staff of GW, your rules might be different. There has been huge fights over the internet between well known painters about proxy entering, to the point one called someone a marmaset ( monkey) with photoshoped face added and the difference between a marmaset and a certain person is that a marmaset has less hairy legs.
In short, Staff rules might be different but the last time I checked it was in the rules. If somebody enters your piece, GW is losing $30 from the entrance fee because you do not pay to enter the Golden Demons.
Talk to you later.....Dragomir
Thanks for the heads up Dragomir, I did read in the rules about the entering yourself bit, I know my manager cleared it last year, and Head Office will be here Friday so I'll check with them then. I don't mind buying the ticket for the event if that's the case, I would consider it more than fair. I definately appreciate you making sure I was aware of the rule though
well...
Got tickets for myself and Shilpa...hopefully I can get my entry done in time...
